The ArcGIS© for Server REST API provides robust tools for working with spatial data. Did you know that you can also use the REST API to do many of the same powerful operations to tables published through a feature service? ArcGIS© for Server allows you to query, edit, add, update, and delete data from a table without having to directly contact a SQL Server, or build a complex and time consuming web service. However, registering a table with the geodatabase can introduce problems.

In our webinar, Instant Enterprise For ArcGIS, we talked about the economic advantages to moving to the Cloud. I’d like to discuss this topic in more detail and how it can be applied to GIS. A lot has been written on the advantages of the cloud, but for the purposes of this post I am sticking with what I believe are quantifiable items that address common needs.
Remember the last time you looked up at the sky? Maybe it was blue, completely clear or even partly cloudy. Whatever the case, I’d be willing to bet that if you’ve ever appreciated a gorgeous day, you’ll agree that there’s a certain (and substantial) peace of mind knowing that we can always count on a piece of sky overhead.
